Every so often, I get an email that just stands out and makes me hope and pray they book me! (hah) Here is one such email I got a few months ago..

Hi Allie,
I’m not sure I you remember me or not but we’ve crossed paths a few times through the BF Cafe and Mamaology. I’m writing because, well, I’m having a baby and I’m pretty sure my husband will be in no position to be his usual snapshotty self during labor. Your photos are amazing and you seem to bring such a good energy to a room.
Can you tell me how much your services are and what it includes? We are planning a home birth and we live in Belpre. Second child, due July 19th. Delphine is our midwife with Holly assisting and Crysta doulaing (is that a real word??). Birth team trifecta![]()

Birth Team Trifecta, indeed. Kelley is planning her home birth for sometime in the next few weeks and I will be documenting it for her entire family. I just loved her email and knew from the moment we met up at the park to talk, that we would make a perfect match for this incredibly personal journey she is going on. I since have met her husband and son, and spent some time just hanging out with them. It’s going to be a beautiful birth and I am honored that she chose me to document it. I hope that he hubs appreciates not having to be snap-shotty while practicing Bradley method and I cannot wait to see her sons expression when all this madness goes down and he meets his new baby bro or sis! I cannot wait to see what Kelley says when she finds out boy or girl! I just cannot wait!
I always try to go to the prenatal appointment before the birth that is in the home, where we talk plans and last minute things.. I shoot a few pics too and for some reason, these made me tear up when I was editing them. In-home prenatal care, a husband who can operate a doppler and a birth team that is so excited to help Kelley birth her way.. it’s just prenatal awesomeness!
Enjoy a peek into home birth prenatal care..
